Who is Mega Mom in the KFC commercial?

Is my mom being unreasonable?

  • she's been whining and nagging at me to find a job for the summer. i'll be 19 soon and im taking the summer semester off. i am trying to find a job. i've applied to a lot of places, but i dont have lot of experience so it's kind of hard. so i've aimed at places like KFC and mcdonalds and i THINK i'd be able to get one of them. i've also looked online too and applied at least yo 20 other ads. the thing that really annoys me is that my mom thinks its so easy to find a job. and she thinks im not trying hard enough. she says that most people my age by now would have made a lot of money and are able to support themselves in ways such as food and clothes i guess. and that if i were to have a job, i'd have to pay for my own food etc etc. [no problem, but her attitude and the way she spoke annoyed the heck out of me.] not only that, i'd have to be able to keep the job through to the fall which is when school starts. i'm a full time student and a lot of my friends from highschool quite their jobs to focus on studying. she wants me to do well at school, but expects me to go to work too. 3 courses really is enough for me. and im not sure i'd be able to handle a part time job.but im willing to try of course. she also said that because im so skinny and dont eat enough and dont sleep enough, that nobody would hire me because i look unhealthy and too thin. i eat fine, and i look fine. none of my friends think i look deathly ill. it's a stupid argument! i just dont know how to tell her to stop yelling and arguing with me when i am trying to find a job!

  • Answer:

It's not so much about you getting a job to please her, as much as it is about you getting a job to show you are mature and thinking about real life where it costs money to live every day. She wants you to have a work ethic, you know, responsible, dependable, reliable, independent. My parents pulled the same stuff on me, and I always managed to make my own summer job by mowing neighbourhood lawns, painting fences, cleaning eaves trough gutters, etc where I could be my own boss and make my own decisions and money.
