Where can I find the value of Antique Piano?

If I restring my 1916 baby grande piano will it lose it's value?

• I know antiques lose value if you don't have it's original parts but I think pianos are different. It has one string that can't be tuned properly. I keep reading and finding info on the internet that tells me to restring it at least once a year but that is for newer pianos. I can't find any thing about a 1916 piano or older. Any answers will help me to decide on what I should do. Thanks for the help.

  This would be an ideal way to really bring it back to life. Treat it well. All is fine as long as the harp (metal framework) is still in good working order and the tuning sets function. No stress cracks or metal fatigue that can be found. As well as all the mechanics and wood parts are up to snuff. But, an expensive proposition beyond a few new strings and having it professionally tuned. Ask about what a real overhaul can cost on the average when looking for tuners and repair services. Find some piano dealers in your area to begin your research and inquire of their services or have knowledge of piano technicians or restorers.
