What is positive about chemical warfare?

What war did the U.S. use the most Biological and Chemical warfare tactics?

  • I am doing an essay for my U.S. history class about the America's involvment with Biological and Chemical weapons, so I was wondering what war did America use the most Biological and Chemical weapons and what were they?

  • Answer:

The United States used many biological and chemical warfare tactics in order to have an advantage in the Vietnam war. The first form of chemical warfare was agent orange which was used to kill the plants so that the viet kong and other enemy soldiers could be seen before the US soldiers were ambushed. Agent orange later caused death, cancer and various other problems for anyone that was in contact with agent orange. The US also dropped several bombs with forms of Chemical warfare such as napalm bombs which would explode and burn away trees. Then there was the use of a gas that was once used to clear out a viet kong nest.

The Vietnam War. The two most well-know weapons were Agent Orange and Napalm. Agent Orange was sprayed over huge portions of jungle to defoliate the plants, and make it harder for enemies to hide in them. Napalm was a jelly-like mixture that would ignite when it came in contact with air. It was used to burn the jungle to the ground, and also for strikes against the enemy.

Vietnam - using a chemical defoliant called agent orange to strip away the jungle so the Viet Cong and North Vietnamese regulars had no place to hide. It was a disaster. Many American troops died from contacts with it.
