Important in what way? Economically important? Politically important? Socially important? For example, you can say that the Vietnam War created distrust in the American people for their government. however, I will try to answer some of the dates: 1776- signing of the Declaration of Independence 1861-1865- Civil War, Emancipation Proclamation 1914-1918- World War I. I think this was the first war that the United States fought that did not have anything to do with us. That was a change in foreign policy 1929- Great Depression 1941-1945- World War II, created a sense of togetherness in Americans. Felt that they were doing something good.
