What should I get to increase rate of fire on my airsoft gun?

  • Ok so I just got into airsoft. I got a broken Crosman Pulse r74 for cheap from a friend and tried to fix it. I want to replace the gearbox with a full metal gearbox. Now what can I do and need to buy to increase the rate of fire? My current battery is a 8.4v could i just get a higher volt battery with the metal gearbox(the old gearbox was plastic)? I dont want to spend over $50 on this i just like to see what can be done with it. I already have a 2011 version JG m4 s system so this "project" would be my extra and is not fully necessary. Now I heard from a friend that someone he knows increased their RoF but had to buy some other stuff due to his gun body melting. So What can a get for under $50 to make a decent pulse r74 gun with good RoF that wont melt or wearout quickly?

    A battery is the easiest way. Get a Lipoly, they're the best. I got a 7.6V Lipoly and for some weird reason it's way better than the standard 8.4V one my Ika Zuchi came with.
