Energy conservation or not?
-
If an asteroid hits the earth and energy conservation is not followed, which of these two is likely to happen:- a)- The asteroid bounces back b)- It impacts the earth but nothing happens 2)- When water vapours condense on the window of your car, what change is happening here:- a)- Sensible heat is converting to Latent heat b)- Latent heat is converting to Sensible heat.

Answer:
1) Neither. When an asteroid hits the earth, energy is NOT conserved (this is where all of the heat comes from). Momentum is ALWAYS conserved. If the question had asked for when energy IS CONSERVED, then the answer would be: a) Since this is the only way energy would be conserved. I don't see that b) is likely to happen in any situation (i.e. "nothing" happens). 2) don't know, sorry
