What is the difference between full metal alchemist and full metal alchemist brotherhood?

Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood follows the manga almost exactly. The original Fullmetal Alchemist series follows the same basic plot until they discover Wrath on the island. Even before that, though, there are plot differences that greatly affect the similarities with the manga. I believe that Winry and Lust are equally in both. In the original, however, Lust was much nicer. And the "I Love Dogs" speech is in Episode 13 of the original, Fullmetal vs. Flame. "Dogs? I love dogs!" "Really? You do?" "Of course! Dogs embody loyalty, they obey their master's commands above all else! Be a jerk to them and they don't complain, and best of all they never once beg for a paycheck! Trust me, Fuery, they're the great servants of man! Loyal canine how we salute thee! Hahaha!"

Brotherhood follows the manga, as where the first anime veers off at a certain point and has its own story, they're both great stories though, if you're thinking of watching one i'd watch both(but i like the first anime better) Winry is in Brotherhood more, i think lust is in the first one more, the "I love dogs" i know for sure is in the first Full Metal Alchemist anime, it might be in brotherhood too, i haven't finished it(but i read the manga, and it wasn't in there that i remember)

Brotherhood follows closer to the FMA manga, whereas the first-released anime deviates to a different storyline.
