Why won't sims 2 pets work?

Why won't my Sims 3 Pets work anymore?

• So it has been working for a long time, now all of a sudden it doesn't work. I can open the game launcher and that works fine, but when I press play, the whole screen goes black and it's just the loading mouse. I have to open the task manager to get it off. I have already tried this: Open My computer browse to C:\ browse to Program files (if you have a 64 bit operating system it will be Program files x86) browse to Electronic arts, browse to The Sims 3 Pets, browse to Game, browse to Bin, select TS3EP05.exe right click TS3EP05.exe and select "create shortcut" It should ask if you want to create a shortcut on the desktop, click yes.Double click that shortcut and play! It doesn't work. I have a PC and also when i open the game launcher it always would say there is an update but i wouldn't do it. Is that it? Thanks for any answers! In Addition: Sometimes when i was playing before it would randomly 'stop working'. there wouldn't be a specific thing that would make it but it would just go off at random times. Help for that would be great too.

  I had GTA: San andreas which would randomly stop working. After about a week just like yours it wouldn't load up at all. I found out that one of the files were corrupt from when I was modding the game. Did you change/remove any files? On the other hand, it could of been the update.
