What TV to get for console gaming?

There's this relatively new gaming console that was announced about 2 years ago, can you help me identify it?

• Well I must've heard major news about it around 2 years back, but I forgot what it was called so I'm wondering if the release of it has been cancelled. Technically it wasn't a console, but I wouldn't know what else to refer to it as. If my memory serves me right, it was a controller, everything you needed was in this controller. And there was like a subscription service, where you could get major titles (that are on PS3 and xbox) for under £5 And it was thought to take over gaming as a whole and ruin PS3 and xbox as the games were set to be soo cheap. But yeah, didn't need a system, just a controller, and you downloaded the games from your TV. Can anyone remember the name?

  It might be some kind of cloud gaming subscription service- I don't know much about it, but i seem to remember that it launched in the UK about six months ago- some kind of little black box that you hook up to your WI-FI and your television and it lets you play games online. If I remember correctly, it cost about sixty pounds, and you don't 'buy' titles in the traditional sense, but 'rent' them instead. Haven't heard much else about it, but that's because I have console and PC.
