How do you simplify Rational Expressions?
-
I have a test tomorrow and Ive completely forgot how to do it. Algebra 7-8th grade Ex: 6p-30/3p-15 How would you solve this? Would it be 6(p-5)/3(p-5) then they cancel oit so it would be 6/3 and simplify 3/1 or 3 would be the answer right??
-
Answer:
yes that is correct except for 6/3 is 2 not 3... you also have to state the non-permissible values which are located on the step before canceling. So the answer would be: 2 ; p ≠ 5
