How Can A 17 Year Old Start Their Own Business (UK)?

  • Is It Possible To Start My Own Business? I'm Going to Manufacture My Own Product - I Have A Company Name and logo, and Have Gained Connections to some Factories in China who agreed to send me some smaples of the product. I Have Packaging Designed - and T-shirts made So I Can Look Professional on my travels - However It seems to Be illegal to Start Your Own Business at 17 - which in my opinion is TOTAL S**T. How Does the Guys on young Apprentice do it? - there 15-19 and have there own business? - They Registered To There Parents? I can be employed - But I can't be Self Employed? Why? - I've Been Looking into starting my Own Business from 11 years old. Can I Still Sell My Products? - I'm Going to order 100PCS if the sample is alright. There a small product which is cheap to manufacture - but I Can Get upto 300% profit on them. I'm afraid of breaking the law and getting thrown into Prison for life and never being able to be employed EVER and Not Being able to get a Business loan Anywhere - later on down the line. Bearing in Mind I will Be Selling them the same price as Buns-almost - Cost the Same Amount for a car wash - around £3.99 - £8.99 I wanted To Sell Them On ebay to start off with - but I have to sign up as a business. Unfortunately you have to be 18 to sel on ebay You seem to have the right ideas to be succesful , just get an adult to supervise it for a year or so (you may be pleasantly suprised we adults know a lot of the pifalls and can advise) You wont be thrown into prison etc.. you are not breaking any laws as long as you declare your activity with HMRC (TAX etc) to be totally legal Your local tax office has much helpful info
