How do i tune my car audio system?

• I have an audiobahn a4002t amp 800 watts ach power 50 wattsx w@ 4 ohms and a pioneer ts-w309d4 12 in subwhoofer 1400 watt max power 4 ohms? ( symbol looks like a horse shoe or omega sign ) 20hz to 220hz .... I have had these two in my car for like a week and as far as I'm concerned it just doesent sound as good as I thought ..I'm not that experienced with car audio but I'm learning .. I'm looking to get a bass that would hit hard on like hip hop or whatever n still sound great with rock and country as well if its even possible ........ How do I tune them properly I really hope this is just user error on my part so I don't have to start from scratch .... Thanks everyone

  You did leave out a specific, the type of box the sub is in. A sealed box would be very good for the variety of music you listen to because they generally have a flat frequency response. Another perk is that they're also smaller than most ported boxes and are pretty forgiving about proper sealing. The only downside is that they do require more power to get louder due to the sealed construction vs. the tuned chamber of a ported box. If your box is sealed, I would switch the filter to "LPF" and tune the filter on the amp to around 40hz with a tad of bass boost. Then tune your gain as high as it will go without clipping. For wiring, I would suggest bridging the amp as it is a two-channel. This will transfer the power of one unused channel into both, thus creating a "bridge" between the two channels.
