Has anyone ever had a problem with retrieving their e-mail account information from yahoo?
-
Over the past 9 days I have tried e-mailing Yahoo! customer service representatives in an effort to retrieve information from an old Yahoo! e-mail account. My original question (which was asking for help to get into my old e-mail account) was replied to with questions requesting information about my security answers, and this was sent to me after one day after one day. I replied back to this Yahoo! rep answering her questions, and did not hear back from her. Afraid that it might have been a spoof reply from someone not from Yahoo! who asked for my security questions and answers (and therefore now has access to my account), I e-mailed Yahoo! again hoping they could investigate what happened. I have sent a total of 4 e-mails over the course of about 9 days - 3 of the e-mails were in correspondence to my original issue, and the last e-mail was sent as a new issue with Yahoo! concerned that I may have been fooled by the original e-mail that I thought was sent from a legitimate Yahoo! rep. I have not been helped at all and would like to know how I can protect myself from someone hijacking my old Yahoo! e-mail account. At this point I would prefer to delete the account altogether rather than trying to recover it because apparently there is no direct way to get in touch with a Yahoo! rep when you need them. Yahoo does not care about servicing their customers and I am afraid of what personal information I kept in this old account (i.e. phone numbers, addresses, etc). Does anyone know what options are available to me in order to protect my private information on that account?

Answer:
I have to agree with Eric. Yahoo doesn't give a rip about their people who have accounts on here. I have tried numerous times to change my password and have had trouble with no one to help me. Also my friend has had his account locked because he didn't have the answer to the security question which he did not set up. He has no idea where the question came from nor does he know the answer so now he has not been able to get into any of his emails because YAHOO WON"T ANSWER HIS "HELP" QUESTIONS!!! Yahoo has given themselves a very bad name.

Sorry to say, but you will never get any help from yahoo and you will never get any help from a yahoo rep because they don't exist to help you or me. You will talk to a bunch of demented robots. who aren't designed to help you anyway. I wish I could help you more, but I cant...........Eric.
