How to go on student exchange to England?

Where in england should i go for student exchange? help!?

  • Hi, Im wanting to do exchange with uni and was just wondering if anyone could shed any light on where the best place to be a student exchange out of the following options in england: - Aston Business School (Biringham, England) - University of Exeter (England) - Lancaster University (England) - Leeds University (england) - University of Hull (england) not too fussed with how great the uni is, but more so which has the most to do and which cities are nice & interesting etc, as i really have no clue and am half way across the world in AUS! Thanks for your assistance :)

  • Answer:

Birmingham= BIG city in the English Midlands...OK. Vies with MANCHESTER for UK's Second City title....Beaten by Manchester, years ago, with so much moving to that city region, including a large part of the BBC.....Most people in the UK now consider Manchester has that unofficial title..... Exeter= smaller city (remember here we call places with CITY STATUS cities...MOST are large to very big....)in SW England....nice. Lancaster= smaller city in NW England........OK.May feel a bit cut off as a long way from places like Liverpool & Manchester..... Leeds= big city, at the heart of the 4th biggest urban conurbation in the UK, in Yorkshire, Northern England....classy city with great people and close to so much, including Manchester, North Yorkshire Moors, York etc...... Hull= bigger city in East Yorkshire..Friendly and university DOES have a good reputation.......Is not a bad place. Must depend on the course, but I would go for Leeds because IS a great place and is very central....For example, Manchester Airport is less than ONE hour away for intercontinental flights....The biggest outside London and the SE. Leeds/Bradford also good for cheapish flights to continental Europe, if you get time. Places like Lancaster & Exeter seem cut off when you consider this....Birmingham is yet again over shadowed by Manchester on this one despite having an international airport.......Hull is about 1.5 hours over from Leeds.......Google them all, but must say LEEDS does have great night life....Even people from London come up to the clubs, for a weekend ,as well as others from all over the UK.......
