Do i need a VISA to visit Argentina, I have United kingdom refugee status with a conventional travel document?
-
I have refugee status in United Kingdom and also have a conventional travel document still valid for 5 years do i need a visa to enter Argentina as tourist for 3 weeks? i can't find any answers no where, i contacted Argentina embassy but they said i need to confirm with UK authorities that issued my travel document and will it effect my status. I don't think it will effect my status as i am recognised as a refugee in UK and i will just be traveling to Argentina for short time so there sould be no effect to my staus here right?. There is no way of me contacting UK BA to get this information to confirm that my travel to Argentina is ok, theres no email or phone i can contact UK BA on. I some how need confirmation from UK BA to submit to Argentina embassy but i just do not know how to get this information from UK BA, there is no information at all about traveling to Argentina using my travel document with UK refugees status. please help anyone..!

Answer:
Go to the UKBA website and key into the search box "Convention Travel Document". Please note that it is "convention" not "conventional". There is information about travel abroad for CTD holders. Your CTD will not "effect" anything, but it may well affect something. To find out how to contact UKBA click on to the "CONTACT" bar on the upper right of the website.

If you have the British passport, only the British passport, you don't need a visa, if you are not a British passport holder, maybe you will need a visa, if you are African, Eurasian or Asiatic (except Thailand, S. Korea, Japan, Israel or Taiwan) you'll need it.

Under INTERNATIONAL law i don't think refugees are allowed to travel out of the country they have refugee statues... only because if anything happens to you while away they will send you back to your country that you bear a passport too.... and i assume you don't want to go back there. so you need a a conventional travel document that you can apply from from britain but only certain countries have sign this agreement in 1951 so you will need to see if argentina is one of them( i think is) and the way things are with the 2 countries ii doubt they will make it easy. goodluck
