How to break a horse?

How can I break a 6 year old horse?

• My barn has a horse that is 6 years old, and has had no training what so ever! She is a beautiful horse, however she lives in a field with two other horses, and has never left them. I want to start to train her! I am an educated rider however I have never broken a horse with no background or education at all! Any advice will be greatly appreciated! THANK YOU!!!

  Breaking horses is tons of fun, but what you need to do first is find yourself a trainer. The trainer will help you get to the point to where you are ready to break a horse. Your confidence appears to be up there, so that's great! Also you need to talk to the owner of the horse. Is there a reason that they haven't been broken yet? IS the reason because the owner doesn't have time, or does the horse have a medical issue? Those are going to the be the first two steps towards getting this mare broke. Be safe, and have fun!
