How do i become Top Contributer on Yahoo Answers?

  • hi, i would like to become Top Contributor on Yahoo Answers, ever since i began started coming on it, i have learnt a lot by Answering and asking Questions on this wonderfull forum by Yahoo.This is the best way for people to learn about everything they need to know,and it is very convenient as you don't have go rushing around trying to find the best places and whom to ask.Thank you Yahoo keep up the good work.

I don't think Y!A is even close to being the best way to learn about something, but if you want to be a tc simply concentrate on your favorite section and answer questions there. If you get enough best answers you will become one.

A lot of best answers in one or more categories. Choose one or more categories you know a lot about and concentrate on them.

A Top Contributor is somebody who answers frequently in a particular category and achieves a minimum Best Answer percentage with those answers. There are no extra privileges in being a TC. One can be a Top Contributor in up to 3 categories. While the exact formula to earn a TC badge is a Yahoo! secret, it is known that in order to earn one you need to answer a minimum number of questions weekly in a particular category (perhaps 30+, and Polls & Surveys and Jokes & Riddles are not eligible categories) and get a minimum BA% on those answers (roughly 12%+), kept up for a few weeks in a row. Categories which are not very busy will require fewer answers to earn the badge than one that is popular. Once a TC badge is earned, you will need to maintain the same minimum level of answering or you will lose your badge within 1-4 weeks (5 in rare cases).

It's really no big deal. Yahoo has a secret complicated formula involving percentages and best answers to arrive at how someone receives the designation. There are lots of rumours as to what that percentage is but in fact, only YA knows for sure and they aren't telling. One Monday. the day when TC's are selected you log in and surprise you are a TC. The best way to earn it is to concentrate on answering in up to three categories where you might have some knowledge. if you don't keep your percentage up you can lose the designation.There are no special privileges.
