I want to buy a website but only one person said it is a scam?

Hello all, i want to buy a website that is used for autoparts whole sale. The owner of the site is located out of the USA. I am living in the USA. I have beed dealing with this site for over a year and no one said this site is a scam. however, recently there is one buyer who said he paid for the parts but it was never shipped to him. He claimed that he has receipts for it. However, the owner of the site stated that he has not received any payment for the buyer. The buyer is accusing the seller, website owner, of being a scammer and the seller, site owner, stated that the buyer is a scammer. That is the situation. And here is my question. There are currently three people who want to buy the site. I am one of them. I know for the fact that this site is legit and the owner is legit however he could went "south" undetected during the past couple months. therefore he could be a scammer which i am not sure anymore. I want to buy the site but i am afraid that i might be held responsible the buyer who were scammed by the site's owner. Could anyone with knowledge of the laws tell me about this? i am living in the USA btw. the website will take the same name as before nothing changed except for the ownership. I mean if the site owner didnt scam the buyer then everything is good. however, if he scammed somebody then it is not cool. And i will not take part in any of this. i dont want to be responsible after i bought the site.

You will have to get advice from people you are confident know what they are talking about. = I think if you buy just the website, you are not responsible for the business, nor practices of the previous owner.

Well, anything could have happened with the 'shipped' items. The owner could have shipped them, but they got lost in the mail, or the items werent accepted into the country, there are many reasons for not receiving those items. From what you have said, it seems that the owner isnt a scammer and he is legit, but i can't decide based on your behalf. If you feel insecure with buying this website, then don't, but if i wanted to, i most likely would.
