My sleep schedule is all out of whack and no matter what I do, I can't sleep at night..How can I fix this?

For the past few months I have realized that no matter how hard I try I can not go to sleep before 5 am. I have laid in bed from 11pm to 5am on numerous occasions and I try really hard not to fall asleep during the day which is not that hard because I am the mother of 2 little children. When I do sleep during the day it is maybe for a total of 4 hours and I find that I am extremely tired throughout the day but as soon as I put my kids to bed, I am no longer sleepy and find it hard to go to sleep. Normally when I am lying in bed at night trying to sleep, the TV is on (I don't like to be in the dark) but the volume is down and I am staring at the wall or ceiling just thinking about nothing. I don't want to try pills because for a while I was taking Advil PM just to be able to sleep at night and found it really hard when to sleep at all when I did stop taking them. Any advice or better yet any solutions?

there are few very simple solution for ur problem.: - listen music instead of puting tv on, music shuld be instrumental soft. Bt not instrumental of any movie songs. Purely instrumental. And then close ur eyes and without opening ur eyes concentrate on music for 60mins(initial days). Before an hour pass u wil fel asleep. Day by day this 60mins time wil decline. Initial 2-3days it might not work bt it wil start working very soon as ur mind is habitutated not to slep so it wil take a 2or3 days cycle. -kep focus on any relaxing thougt other then u wana sleep or u had somthng disturbing u. follow it strictly , u wil get a result.. I had same probs wen my schedule chnges after 6mths.
