Can older dogs develop pica?
-
My Labrador retriever recently developed the habit of eating things like dust from under the couches, chewing on socks, and eating grass. She is 10 years old and has never had this problem before. Recently, we switched her food formula to the one for senior dogs, and about a month of so after she began to eat all sorts of objects around the house. Is it common in older dogs to develop Pica? Do you think it has something to do with her new food? Thanks for the answers.

Answer:
It is not too common, but not the rarest thing either. I do believe it could have to do with her new dog chow, I suggest you try switching to a Kirkland brand or Science diet, It's been the best for my dogs. :)
