Surround Sound that has a good sub?

Best PC Surround Sound Speakers/Sub?

  • Hey, what is the best option for PC Surround Sound Speakers and Subwoofer, is it worth getting 5.1 surround for FPS Gaming, Music (Rock/Metal) and Movies? So far I'm currently looking at: Logitech Z-5500 (5.1) - heavy bass and no mids? Logitech Z-906 (5.1) - is this better or a downgrade of the Z-5500? Bowers & Wilkins MM-1 - quality sounding but no surround? Audioengine 5+ Klipsch Promedia Ultra (5.1) - discontinued though Klipsch iFi (2.1) Anyone out there with a quality sound setup on their PC, known of these or better brand/models? Cheers.

  • Answer:

Klipsch Pro media 2.1 and Audioengine 5 plus are both highly regarded for stereo separation. I agree with your assessment of Logitech, not a fan. B&W MM1 good but over-rated compared to the B&W Zepplin. Based on what you have listed, A5 plus is your best bet. Nothing can go wrong with the A5's unless you drop them. Klipsch Pro Media 2.1 has an achilles hill since 2001, a weak DIN connector that will last 6 months or 2 years. While it lasts everyone raves about the Klispch Pro media, until it becomes junk because the DIN connector. B&W is grand, but the Zepplin would be my second choice. I would spend the money or save for what I want because this is what you enjoy, it is what becomes fun, the thing that makes you smile. I hope this helps. Best.
