What is the best cell phone plan in Canada?

What cell phone carrier can activate my verizon iphone? I cant activate my verizon plan in canada. NoCoverage?

• I am from the US and came up to Canada for 2 months to Newfoundland. Verizon is my carrier and i got my phone form Verizon. When i got to canada I changed my plan to internation/canadian plan and everything was good. I went to reset my phone to sync it with my mac and now I cant activate my phone because Verizon doesnt have coverage here. They say i have to send it home, have someone activate it and then send it back. Is there anyway to jailbreak the phone and get some kind of plan from a canadian carrier or someone that does international plans??? PLEASE HELP SOON! I dont have a phone!!!!! Thanks

  They are probably right. If you fedex your phone back to the USA and then back to Canada, you could get everything fixed in just 2-3 days. Unfortunately because it's a Verizon phone it is CDMA, so you can't unlock it to work on a different network the way you could with GSM phones like the AT&T iPhone (and even if you could, the time and hassle and money spent switching it to a different network would probably be more than the fedexing). Another idea would be to get a cheap prepay phone in Canada and just use that while you're there.
