Need hairstylists advice. I'm a guy trying to keep my hair straight?

I am in high school and have a hair problem. I have a naturally big forehead/hairline (think Ryan Reynolds), it runs in the family. So I recently grew my hair out for the first time and now have it down to the bottom of my ears on the side and back, and barely past my eyebrows on my forehead. Problem is, I have naturally curlyish/wavy hair. When I sweat it looks like this http://jerseygirlsports.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/12/Dirk-Nowitzki.jpg But when I blow dry it or straighten it, it looks a lot better. I mean, I don't have enough hair to cover my big forehead completely, but I like to at least have it covering the first inch or two down from my hairline. But whenever I sweat, it gets really thin looking (I know all hair looks thin when wet), but mine looks worse and when it's sweaty makes my forehead look even bigger. I know that some would say "Get a haircut," but I honestly like having it longer and have gotten much more attention from girls that ever before (when it is not sweating) But my other thing is this, I am a health nut. I obseess over doing things for my future self (like eating healthy, not getting too much sun exposure...etc) The guys in my family have slight thinning hair, but luckily none are bald. I know that it is genetic and I will likely recede inevitabley, but I also have heard that diet and lifestyle can really effect that too. My family honestly, doesn't eat the healthiest, but eat incredibly healthy and drink lots of water hoping to maybe keep my hair when I get older. SO I wouldn't want to have a hair relaxer, becasue I know that those aren't good for you. But I also don't want to have to use 30 hair products every day. I already do that thing where they say to only shampoo your hair 3 to 4 times a week and use heat spray before I straighten or blow dry (and even blow dry on cold)...like I said, health nut. What can I use that isn't bad for your hair to help keep it in place or maybe prevent it from getting curly when sweating. I know there is hairspray and mousse, but I have never used any hair products except gel, and that was when I had shorter hair. Now I just blow dry/straighten and wear a beanie for about 20 minutes to weigh it down a little. ANY ADVICE ? I want to know if there is some kind of product out there that can help me but that is also not harmful to your hair or even one that is good for you

Answer:
i use the chi iron guard 41 which is a great product to protect your hair against the heat. the best hairspray, in my opinion, is the hairspray made by pantene. It is absolutely great. I use it when i curl my hair though. When i go with a softer curl or straight hair, more like what you're talking about, I use the bed head hairspray that comes in a blue bottle(sorry can't think of the name). It smells good and keeps your hair not feeling like hairspray. If you don't want curly hair, get a "perm" but have them comb it straight. And get a condition treatment. I suggest washing your hair a little more, too. If you live by a Sally's they have great hairproducts. If not target and walmart will have great supplies too. Hope this helps! Goodluck! :)
