How can help others tell if a web page is secure or not?

• I know how to do it but to tell other you need examples and it's beyond my resources to keep those examples up to date as browsers etc change. I hope to find an existing resource that shows me how to do it for each permutation of browser, browser-version & operating-system. Ideally it'll have screenshots and , of course, it'll be up to date. Some other ideal requirements are 1) it's aware that Firefox doesn't have padlock icons anymore and 2) it acknowledges that padlocks aren't all you need to check; that you need to click on the padlock etc 3) it covers Mac OS X as well as MS Windows 4) it has details and screen shots for Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome & Safari thanks
