How do you know if a pool stick is quality made?

Pool cue - can anyone identify this one?

  • A former occupant of the apartment I'm living in left a pool cue behind. I am going to sell it, but don't know what brand it is. I wish I could show pictures, but I will do my best to describe it. It is a two-piece cue, with a light colored natural finish wood upper half. The lower half is made of a darker wood, and has tiny black and white portraits of a ram, as well as the "Aries" zodiac symbol. The only clue to it's maker is a squiggly looking initial at the bottom of the stick that looks like it could be a stylized "T" flowing into an "S". It came in a blue vinyl case with black trim. Are there any billiards enthusiasts who might be able to identify this for me, as well as direct me to a website or someplace with pricing. At the very least, could I get an estimated quote? The pool cue is in very good condition.

  • Answer:

The T S would make me think Timmy Scrugs, but I have never heard of it having a Rams head on anything. If it was a Scrugs it is worth BIG money, I wouldn't see anyone leaving one behind. Check out a cue collection site, you can send them photos and they will give you the value, they might even offer to purchase if its Scruggs
