How can you lock folders with a password in Vista?

How can i password lock my folders on a vista?

  • sometimes certain people need to use my laptop, like my sister for example. my sister is a major snoop. when i was on vacation, i found that she was looking through my phone. i have come to my room to find a file left open on my computer that i hadnt used in months and had no reason to be open. i even had to write my diary in code, and i open it one day and she was trying to decode it and had written down a couple of decoded words and then erased them but i could still see them. (she's 19. like grow the f up!) i'm able to password lock my word document files, but nothing else. i have pictures and stuff that i don't want her looking at. how can i lock folders?

  • Answer:

Try the LockmyDrive software, it can basically do anything - hide your folders, encrypt or totally lock your laptop hard drive with your password.

Easy file locker. Is a free software which does that - locks files with password; gives, takes rights to be accessed/written by the system, and such. Works only on your computer, while that program is installed, if you try to copy a locked folder to a flash drive, phone, etc, and then copy them to another pc, they won't be locked by password anymore. Search it on softpedia.

You can simply archive your folders using winrar or winzip and set a password.
