Can SQL injection be detected?

Lets just say I am currently performing an SQL injection on a website. Will the admin of the site knows that the site is currently being attack and will they be able to find the attacker?

i think yes , because the ip adresse of the lastest person that did an operation on the database is stored, but don't be afraid , not all the admins are aware of this .
