How To Dye Futura?

Hair dye turned out bad... how soon can i re-dye?

  • i have hair that is naturally a medium golden brown that i dye darker, and it always has red undertones when i dye it. like a dark reddish brown, but definitely more brown than red. i like these undertones, so i went for a "dark auburn" dye, but now its just TOO red. like i look like ariel from the little mermaid when it catches the light... so i'm wondering when i can dye it again to fix it? i use garnier brand hair dye which is supposedly "nourishing" but i know its probably still damaging to an extent so i don't want to screw up my hair. the color is livable for awhile, i won't mind going out or being seen, etc. i'm just not exactly happy with it.

  • Answer:

Get a non-ammonia, semi-permanent hair color in a light ash brown. Leave it on for maybe half the time it says. This will take the red hair down a notch or two, but not completely cancel it out. As long as you get a non-ammonia color, you can apply it whenever you want.
