How can I enlarge my Path/Tool Image in Gimp? I need it overall bigger!?
-
I got caught up in my scanned image and didn't think to increase the page size to what I needed it to be before I started my path. I'm using the pen path tool to ink my drawing, and I've put the path on my whole drawing, but I need it to be the full page size. I want to make my path layer larger to fit 8x10, but it will only let me grab one piece at a time even though they are all in the same path layer. Does anyone have any suggestions? I don't want to click stroke and stretch it out, the lines will get thicker and thats not what I'm wanting.

Answer:
if you meant to resize Paths to fit new canvas size, you can try Scale Tool http://docs.gimp.org/2.2/en/gimp-tool-scale.html http://docs.gimp.org/en/gimp-tool-scale.html then below in Scale tool options, select path icon button then grab drawing as path lines, and rescale larger or smaller, Gimp - image editor, http://gimp-win.sourceforge.net/stable.html Plugin Registry GIMP http://registry.gimp.org/ also idea to export paths as merged group, to desktop, and import to inkscape, http://docs.gimp.org/en/gimp-path-dialog.html Inkscape illustrator http://www.inkscape.org/screenshots/index.php?lang=en http://www.inkscapeforum.com/viewtopic.php?t=1077&f=12 http://howto.nicubunu.ro/hyperspace-comic/ ..

Try Image (menu) Flatten image (menu) This may let you work on all pieces on the one layer Or if it is a one colour drawing (say black lines on white paper) try click stroke and stretch (let the lines get thick. lets say by 4 pixels) Then select the color of the line. (black) Everything black will be selected. Select (Menu) Shrink (Menu) 2 pixels (on each side) Ctrl + I (invert the selection) D (delete the unwanted thickness) http://www.gimptalk.com/ http://gimpforums.com/ (better places for gimp questions)

Click on the scale tool. And In the tool options dialog you'll see 3 small icons across the top. One of them reads "scale path". Click on that. Use the scalte tool to scale your path just like how you scale images. I do gimp and UFRaw tutorials and would be happy to help you out more. You can use the scale tool to scale a path. click the scale tool, then in the tool options hit the paths icon, then use it to rescale the path.
