Why are the corners of my fisheye lens blurry?

Can I take a star trail with a fisheye lens?

  • I'm going camping this summer and I should have my new dSLR by then. I'm getting a Canon Rebel T2i and I know to shoot a star trail (perfect opportunity in the mountains) you need a wide-angle lens. I'll have the 18-55mm by then and the 55-250mm, since it comes with the camera. Now, I really want a fisheye lens for this summer, since I can have a LOT of fun with the lens. I know it's a really wide-angle lens, but I don't want to mess up the star trail with a lens that wasn't meant for it. Can I take it with any of the lenses I've mentioned? If not, what alternatives do you suggest? The fisheye lens in specific that I want is the Rokinon FE8M-C 8mm F3.5 Fisheye Lens. Thank you so much :)

Yes, you can use any lens for star trails although wide angle lenses are best suited. All you need is the long exposure.

Sure, why don't you think you can? The technique to produce start trails are NOT lens dependent

Yes why not but you'll have to shoot for a longer time to get a significant length of trails. Try for at least 30 minutes.
