Sony Vaio recovery disc.

Why cant my computer verify the recovery disc?

• I recently bought a Sony Vaio VPCEG34FX/B. I had already went through the entire set up process yesterday. I booted up the computer, installed 30 days free internet security, installed microsoft office, and did all of the microsoft windows and viao updates. The thing is I wanted to wait until i completed all that to go ahead and make a recovery media disc. I try to make a media recovery kit using Vaio Care. I followed what the screen prompts told me to do but a little before the recovery process reaches the end of step 1 my disc ejects automatically and a window pops up on my screen saying that the disc could not be verified and the media recovery creation was cancelled. The disc i was using was a DVD+R x16 120 Min. with a storage capacity of 4.7 GB. Could a tech savvy person please help me out?

  when you create recovery media, it does not include all your updates the recovery media is taken from the microsoft files prior to being epanded, so waiting after updates should not have mattered. the recovery media is supposed to always recover to an original Microsoft state. that aside, the only 2 possible likely reasons are these 1 a dvd is only just enough storage space, and because of the updates it has affected ...what is stored on the disk, eg it may allow for the microsoft update files unexpanded. ...so it basically just went over the 4.7gb and would not fit. The crude mechanism used ...may have just kept going, and the cd rewriting mechanism just dipped out. 2 the media you are using is not recognised well enough to work properly with the cdrom ...drive. i suggest its likely to be (2), so try different media. oh and to get the effects of all these updates,you need to Backup your files and create media for the backup. ============================== if you wanted a Disk Image, please use Acronis or Paragon hard disk manager to image your partitions, these images WILL save you all the bother of updates in the future. Recovery media is supposed to reproduce the original stuff as supplied at the time of purchse, no updates, installed programs, paid for items etc.
