What type of dvd blank disc do i need to make a recovery disc for windows 7?

  • i want to make a windows 7 recovery disc i saw on youtube you can make one by clicking start then go to control panel then go to back up and restore then on the left it says create a system repair disc i just want to know what type of dvd blank disc do i need to make a recovery disc for windows 7 do i need a dvd-rw disc or a dvd+rw disc and do i need to format the blank disc i got a dell n5110 laptop windows 7 home premium 64-bit

    Any type except +RW or -RW. Dual layer type will probably only need one disc; single layer probably will need two. Formatting not necessary.

use a blank DVD-R or DVD+R disc. You don't need to format the disc first.

If more space is better than less, I'd go with a dual-layer (8.5 GB) DVD+R DL. I've had good luck with the ones from Verbatim. Of course, a single-layer Blu-ray disc would give you more space, and a dual-layer Blu-ray disc would give you even more.
