Questions: 1. What is bootable device? 2. Can I use Windows 7 DVD as a boot device? 3. How can i solve this? Help pleaseee !!> Thanks :DD

  • Answer:

You wiped the hard drive that had the operating system on it (the bootable device). Do the following with the Win7 disk... To boot from your CD/DVD, the BIOS settings on your computer must be configured to do this. On start up keep tapping either F1, F2, F10,(Be Aware that some manufacturers use F10 for system recovery!) Esc, or Del, to enter the BIOS set-up. Look for "Drive configuration", "Boot order" or similar and make the CD/DVD drive the first boot device and the hard drive second. Save settings and exit. Insert the disk into your CD/DVD drive, and then restart your computer. When you see the "Press any key to boot from CD" message, press a key to start the computer from the CD/DVD. Follow the instructions on the screen to select and format (NTFS) a partition where you want to install Windows. Follow the instructions on the screen to complete the Windows Setup. You have formatted your computer, and most likely removed everything. You should just reinstall Windows with the DVD you have. If you don't know how to install, this guide will help you. "A bootable device is a device like a hard drive, CD\DVD or USB that contains code required for you computer to boot (turn on)." http://www.buildeasypc.com/sw/windows_7/install_windows_7.htm

A bootable device is a device, such as a hard drive or DVD drive, that your computer can boot up from. Looks like you formatted (erased) your hard drive. Insert your Windows 7 DVD and you should be able to boot from that. Just install windows 7 again, and your computer should work, although you may have lost all the data saved on your hard drive.
