What is pf usage in the task manager?

Windows Task Manager and netbook RAM Question?

  • I have a HP Mini 311 Netbook that came with the standard 1GB RAM. I recently installed 2 More GB to raise it to the maximum 3GB that this netbook can support. However, yesterday I was running a coverter on one user and surfing the web on another user and my netbook froze. When opened my task manager, I saw that it was using 100% of the CPU usage but the PF usage was only at 860MB. I have 2.75 GB registered on the netbook but it still freezes. What is the problem here? Can somebody explain why the machine cannot handle a bigger load even when I added 2 more gigs of RAM? Thanks in advance!!

  • Answer:

It sounds like your CPU is where the bottleneck is, not the RAM. Netbooks have slow CPUs. Try to avoid running too many processes at a time, especially when you are handling videos.

Please Mention the Specs of your PC whether X86 (32 Bit) or X64 (64 bit). This might happen becoz your PC may be supporting upto only 1 gigs. Verify with the Manufacturer. Cheers, Jerry
