What kind of Computer should i get?

What kind of video card should I get for my computer, or should I even get one?

Every time I plug the blue VGA input in the back in, the computer just stays in standby mode. I've tried multiple monitors and idk what to do. I called staples and they said I needed a new video card but Idk what kind and they wouldn't tell me anything other that I needed a "slim" one. Do I need to get a a new video card? If so, what kind would be recommendable? If not, what should I do to fix this problem?
