How can I convert a cassette home video into a CD or DVD?

  • My dad had a video camera in the early 90s and now we have a bunch of cassette tapes, but no way to watch them cause my VCR is broken. How can we convert them into a CD or preferably a DVD to watch on TV/laptop?

I think what you need must be a DVD Burner.and I have used one for weeks for my family. Then I found there's no shortcomings for it. so i think you can have a try for this one.Go and have a look at this page for more information. Hope This will help you.Have a nice day.

One way to do it is to get a dvd burner that accepts rca cables, and connect the dvd burner and the device that plays the tape (for example, vhs player, or the camcorder) with the rca cables. Just record the video onto dvds, and there you go. It worked for me.

Most of the time you can have it down at small video shops for pretty cheap. Especially considering the price and irony of buying a new VCR and the other equipment to do it yourself. VHS will always have to be recorded in damn close to real time, so you'll sit there for hours just waiting for it. Google for video in your area. Even some Walmarts can do it.
