How do you modify your computer?

How to prove you can modify/build a computer?

  • Now, Im looking at computer and my dad comes up and says "that computer doesnt have enough of this, this, and that." When i mention that i am not spending $40 for 2 gb of ram and that im going to put the extra parts in myself, if i get it, he says "NOPE! Your not gonna do any of that, just buy that dang computer and spend the extra money." Now this is me "-_-" Ive been searching further and on all the websites i could always leave something out (i.e. awesome graphics card) and save a bunch of money buying it aftermarket and taking 2 seconds to screw it into the case. Do they think it will explode if it doesnt work or something?

speaking as a bit of a old fart that i am in the old days putting together a computer was not hard as such but things could go wrong and you did need to be careful for example it was almost a must to wear anti-static wrist straps etc now a days no it really is as simple as pull leads out back lay it flat on a table unscrew a few screws out back and its open pull and tug away things built pretty well and it does take serious force to break um and ofc before turning pc on make sure there in securely and all pins are in the write ports and power supply cables connected to where they need to be oo and if ur changing processor or putting a new heat sink or cooler on use the "silver compound" ive seen a few people forget and best proof is always to do it if ur buying the pc as u seem to be ur money so no1 can argue and must pc's you buy from shops or retailers will be outdated because in order for a retailer to sell a pc whole it has to be designed and built in in 100's packaged and shiped out to them meaning months have gone past for example pc world a retailer in uk not 1 single pc in there has a processor made in the last 6 months to a year and all use graphics cards the are low to mid range again over 6 months old websites that custom build pc's do offer the latest and greatest or close to it but bare in mind reason they charge so much is that custom built pc's are made to order so they dont get discounts in order for them to make it worth there while they have to slap another 25%-40% on other wise there not making no money and they also have to give a warrenty so that 25-40% is not always profit there not being greedy there just trying to make a honest living. to make ur custom built pc parts + software = 850 (ok u may be able get parts a bit cheaper but they cant use wfga25332 of ebay they need to use a company they can trust) including a copy of windows 7 they then have to have some 1 sit for a hour or so and put the thing together and make it tidy. then another hour to 2 hours to put windows 7 on install all the software and make a 2nd partion to and copy a clone of the os+drivers to for back up purposes, think that 2-3 hours atleast of work the person that does that wants a wage of atleast 20-30. they then have to ship it to you and cross there fingers nothing goes wrong for 12 months else u may send the computer back and they may have to spend anything from 10-130 to repair it for all that cant begruge um sticking on a extra 200 to make it 1050 for a complete build
