Pentium II 350mhz video/audio out of synch playback ?
-
i'm doing some experiments with my ancient computer playing video files. surprisingly it plays almost every video file format without problems except for some MP4 files and video streaming files from youtube and other websites using FLV based videos. here's what happens in youtube.. the video and audio play out of synch even after being fully loaded by the browser and with the hardware acceleration option in the flash player configuration turned off, i downloaded the file directly from youtube to my computer and the same problem happens even with hardware acceleration in windows xp turned off, however the same file in my browser's cache play without any problem. i suspect it must be the codec H.264 that causes this video audio synch problem, because in other MP4 files with the codec, if i convert them to other video file format they play without problem. i already tried to play youtube stream files using older versions of flash player (version 9) it still works on youtube but with the same problem. my questions.. why does the video file in my browser's cache play without problem and the one directly downloaded from youtube doesn't ? i'm i wrong about my suspicion on the codec H.264 ? could it be possible to disable or replace the codec H.264 in the computer for streaming youtube files ? if yes.. can you please explain me how to do it or give me a website address that explains how to do it ? thanks for your patience in reading this poorly written english text and for any help that you can give me in solving this "mystery".
