Internationally recognized certification on web developing?

Hi, I am a fresh graduate of electrical eng. Now I perceive I need to take a slight shift in my career path. I want to be a web develpoer, since it is relatively easy to get a web developing work and gain some experience. I have studied C++, HTML, Assembly in engineering curriculum. So, programming is not new to me. However, my HTML knowledge is in basic level and now my plan is to get a certification on web developing and start wroking as a web developer. Can anyone suggest me a certification on web developing which is internationally recognized? Like CCNA, MCSE etc. are international certs. Thanks.
