Will the HTC Desire firmware 2.3 (Gingerbread) work for HTC Wildfire?

Hi, I wanted to update my HTC Wildfire to a better firmware to a better one because a lot of apps dont work on the existing one. I was wondering if it is possible to use the Android 2.3 Gingerbread firmware that is meant for HTC Desire for my Wildfire?

Android 2.3 is NOT just for HTC Desire and u cannot update your phone with the HTC Desire firmware as both the devices have a lot difference. but IF u want to upgrade, Google "HTC wildfire android 2.3 upgrade"
