How do I play netflix on my tv with my iPhone?

Will iPhone USB Cord in TV play Netflix/Videos?

  • Hey guys! So I do not have internet or cable at my little college apartment, however I do have an iPhone 4G. I am willing to get Netflix as a cable/television alternative (and if this method does not work, I will probably buy a cord that will plug into the TV and the iPhone). Since my TV takes USB cords, does anybody know if a normal iPhone cord will play Netflix videos through my iPhone to the TV? Or will I need a specific cord for it? Thanks! :)

I bought my cable and av kit from best buy also walmart has them. But no your usb charge cable wont work as the tv would have to have usb and be recognized as an external drive.I paid half on sale at best buy for apples original video out cables.I think walmart has griffin for 15 or 20 bucks also works well and online theres apple.com and amazon with a great selection and reviews.

Go to apple store for av optional cables,1 component adapter2 av kit3 composite kit and finally air play wirelessly through apple tv,I dont think you can just plug and play the regular usb charge cable.I use the hdmi av kit with ios5.The optional cables are pretty cheap, for what you get.Question has been answered on the apple forums since the 3gs a few years ago,how to's on google also,

The iPhone 4 supports video out but you will need the Digital AV cable or Composite AV cable to do so. The Digital AV cable connects through HDMI.

iPhones don't have video out. So no.

Ryu

No. You need the A/V cable to do that. USB on the TV, at best, is for playing media from a FAT32 USB storage drive, which the iPhone isn't.
