What are your views on women who aren't good at public speaking?

I'm a 17-year old female and I've always been terrible at public speaking. Part of the reason why speaking isn't one of my strengths is that I'm not confident. I also can't formulate my thoughts quickly and sometimes pause while speaking. However, I can express my thoughts coherently on paper. I'm much better at math and science than at humanities. I got 740 on the Chemistry SAT, 770 on Physics, and 800 on MathII. Will I do okay in life? I think I'm fairly attractive and I'm very sweet. My teachers (coincidentally all male) like me because I have good manners and I smile often (for instance, today one went out of his way to sit next to me instead of just sitting next to my friend). However, I just can't talk well. I mess up when speaking more often than the average person. What are your views on women who are bad at public speaking?

Answer:
They can always use their mouths for other useful, vital purposes.

You are going to be fine. I used to hate public speaking. Just act like your talking to a few of your friends .. and only look at one or two people, maybe three. Who cares what others are thinking? Just talk. After all, finally, you have spotlight :). Practice makes perfect. If you don't publicly speak a lot, of course, you won't be that great at it. But just open up your mouth and start talking. Life will turn out the way you want it to so long as you apply yourself and take advantage of all the opportunities that come your way.
They aren't any different than my views are on men who aren't good at public speaking - I just want them to make their points and get it over with. Lucky for you and anyone else who isn't good at it - you don't have to take a job which requires it. I was a claims rep with the Social Security Administration for 32 years and I taught four claims rep classes and three technician classes. That made me very knowledgeable about not only my job but the technician's jobs. And I found out that when you know a subject backwards and forwards you can talk about it with confidence. Plus, through teaching those classes, I found out that I had a knack for making something complex sound fairly simply - and understandable. My office conducted disability and retirement seminars for people in the surrounding six counties. I volunteered to speak at three of the disabilty seminars which were attended by 200 to 400 caseworkers each from many different agencies over the course of my employment. I thought that I would be nervous but wasn't in the least bit. I estimate that I was employed by Social Security about 15 years, however, before I reached that point. Speaking before groups of people wasn't one of my job requirements and isn't a requirement for most jobs. If you ever are required to speak before a group of people in an employment situation it will only be because you have gained the experience and knowledge needed to do a good job. And that is more than half the battle. So once you are out of school I wouldn't worry about public speaking if I were you. You probably won't even be considering jobs which will require you to speak. And though it is very nice to have good manners that isn't what is going to get you ahead.
They should go back to the kitchen.
It's just a skill. Keep doing it you will get better.
