Have you ever been to Gettysburg PA?

If I catch the bus from Gettysburg PA to D.C., can I stay overnight in DC and return to PA on the same bus?

• The daytrip from Gettysburg to DC only allows you 3 hours of free time in D.C. before getting back on the bus for the 2 1/2 hour ride BACK to Gettysburg. That is not enough time to see what I want to see in D.C. I wonder if the motorcoach goes back and forth every day, and if I can arrange to return to Gettysburg on a different bus the next day.   There are no bus lines that depart from Gettysburg PA. The closest bus terminal is in Frederick MD, about a 45-minute drive from Gettysburg PA. If you can get yourself out of bed very early, there's a Greyhound bus departing Frederick on Saturdays at 5:45 am. After switching buses in Baltimore, you would arrive at DC at 11am. Then you'd have about 6 hours to see DC, until getting back on a return-trip bus at 5:15pm, which after another switch at Baltimore, you would arrive in Frederick at 8:30pm. If you go on a weekday instead, you could take the MARC commuter rail. It leaves Frederick at 7:15am and arrives in DC at about 8:45am. You'd have about 10 hours to spend in DC. The return train leaves DC at 6:30pm, arriving at Frederick at about 8:00pm. It would be a very long day, but might be worth it.
