What's the best small Southern town to live in?

Whats a small peaceful town to live in Canada?

  • My family and I want to move to Canada and we wanted a town that's small and peaceful with not very much crime and kids can play outside. I know Vancouver is a nice place but its a very big city and that's not what i want. A place within an hour or less from Vancouver would be nice. Also if they have schools nearby i'd like to know. Thank you!

You need to do a LOT more research! An hour from Vancouver is still pretty urban, especially if you consider traffic. There are literally thousands of small, peaceful communities across Canada. I live in a place where many people don't even have locks on their doors. Not that they leave them unlocked - they don't physically have locks. But, the key is, what will you do? Where will you work? You cannot just move to Canada because you want to - you need to be able to do a job that no Canadian can be found to do. We do have lots of unemployed people in Canada - you have to be able to do something that is wanted, but that none of the thousands (actually, over a million) of unemployed can do. That will determine where you live. About 80% of Canadians live in cities, but, there are still lots of smaller places that would be what you want. It's just getting the permission to move that will be the tough part.

Since it can easily take 3 to 5 years to immigrate to Canada IF you can qualify, your parents have plenty of time to look for a town. First they need to learn immigration requirements and find out if they can qualify. See sites below.

Fort Langley might be what you're looking for. It's a short drive from Vancouver proper, but far enough away to be less stressful. Here's a site for you to check out: http://www.hellobc.com/fort-langley.aspx

Surrey, burnaby near to vancouver. Dont come to Alberta, its racist and murder prone.

I'm living in L.A. Lethbridge Alberta. And no... Golden... possibly...but still no. The kootenays are nice if you want to avoid all major cities.

Lethbridge Alberta or Golden BC. Lethbridge has a few schools. Idk about Golden though
