Steps to get a UAE visit visa through Emirates Airline?
-
I am a permanent resident in Houston, Texas and I have applied for a visa to Dubai through CIBT (the company that handles visas for Emirates). CIBT told me that if I am flying through Emirates I do not need a sponsor for my flight if I apply for a 90 day visa as Emirates would be my sponsor. I had no choice but to book my ticket in advance as CIBT's visa application requires me to have done that. The problem comes now..I booked my ticket through Emirates Airline..and for my visa through CIBT...now I get a call back from CIBT and I am told that the UAE embassy has become really strict and does not process 90 day visit visas if you don't have first degree relatives in Dubai (father, mother, brother, sister)..the closest family I have in Dubai is an uncle (husband of my mom's cousin..well I guess my mom's cousin could also count directly). The sad thing is this..I was born in Dubai and lived most of my life there (over 18 years)..I moved to Houston less than a year and a half ago..I am fully aware of the strict laws of the Emirates and have always been abiding by them. How can I reason with the embassy to provide me with the visa? I was really looking forward to going as I have been feeling very nostalgic. Its a pity they are giving me such a hard time and I feel its very unfair. Now if I cancel my ticket (still have a month and a half) I lose 200$ plus the visa application money I have spent so far (in case they reject)..if I change the ticket date and try later it costs 400$ and again the visa is wasted. I just feel the embassy should take it a little easy on me. I have lived there all my life and my records are clean. I don't see what they need direct blood relatives for. Please help me figure out what I can do to make them consider giving me the visa! Would really appreciate any information that could help me out! Thank you!

Answer:
Who ever told you the airline can process 90 day visas gave you the wrong information , the airlines are only processing 30 day tourist visas. What you are talking about is the sponsored 30-day VISIT (not tourist) visa , that used to be extendable another 60 days but that is no longer the case under new immigration law here. Also visit visas for Pakistanis are restricted now. The requirement by embassy for direct blood relative as a sponsor is not new , this was also there before. But as I said you got the wrong info , it is not DNRD's problem. But it will be easier if you just go ahead & travel with the 30 day visa , and then try to extend it in Dubai with those relatives present and accounted for. Alternatively get a job in UAE & your employer will provide you with a residence visa.

it will not help by saying u r permanent resident of houston, what matters is ur nationality / pasport . if u do not have close relatives, where r u going to stay for three mionths ? r u really planing to stay here for three months just because u have nostalgic memories of dubai ? i think one month for this should be enough . may be u can aproach any hotel to arrange the visa for u provisionally bookign the room with them .
