How do I change my gender on Yahoo avatars?

Every time i click 'change gender' it brings up this sign that says 'save changes?' and i have clicked both cancel and okay but then it takes me back to the avatar welcome page. Its extremely frustrating, as i would love to make an avatar. Can anyone help me?

Click "My Activity" at top of page Select "Edit My Preferences" Click "Update photo or avatar" Follow instructions to select your photo/avatar Click "Submit" on bottom of original page when done To make a carton avatar: http://avatar.yahoo.com Make sure your Pulse profile is not hidden. :o)
