What does it mean to have fatty liver and enlarged spleen?

    NASH is becoming more commonly recognized because of the obesity epidemic. Affected persons also have elevated liver enzymes and a degree of insulin resistance if not overt type II diabetes. Cirrhosis of the liver follows. I think that may be the cause of your enlarged spleen. But NASH is only one possibility. Treatment includes losing weight, exercise, balanced diet, diabetic control, avoidance of alcohol and unnecessary medication. Consider a referral to a liver specialist (hepatologist). That's a GI specialist who further sub-specializes in diseases of the liver.

Diabetes, obesity (Diabesity), lack of exercise, alcoholic diet. Burger king/junk food diet, all cause NASH. The good thing about it is that you can reverse to some extent if the disease did not progress (go into more worse state) for some time. Also, lose weight if your fat. What does it mean: It means your liver usually takes up food and process it after its absorbed from intestine, and it also stores some of it, when something that cause injury to cells of liver (hepatocytes) this may lead to change into its structure and their normal function is abrupted.

Fatty liver is caused by large fatty deposits on your liver. It's not rocket science if you're fat or obese. Fatty liver disease IS reversible in the early stages, but it requires a serious lifestyle change. Reduce your intake of fatty foods and increase your level of physical activity. If you really do love your children (as your name suggests), your life depends on it.
