What is pop and traditional culture ? How would you describe them?

Does anyone else notice more people have been obsessing with Asia/Asian culture and stuff?

• Hi there! I'm Jenniphos :) So I would like to start out with the most obvious topic -- Japan. A lot of people (that I know) obsess with Japan. Mainly because of anime/manga. And they base their knowledge of japan off of that. That's a little pathetic if you ask me. Woo, you watch a bunch of japanese cartoons where the main character is caught in a love triangle(not the case in EVERY single ONE) and you acquire a tiny bit of information about Japan. And now you think you're japanese. And I know what you're thinking anime-fans/anime-acquaintances "OH HELL NAW THIS GIRL DID NOT JUST SAY THAT. MM-MM(as in "no" xD I can't really describe lol) As a matter of fact I myself am an anime fan and I am very interested in the Japanese culture (doing a research paper about japan) But I do not obsess with Japan like those weeaboos that think they know every spec of detail about Japan. Then they get all in your face about it and start rambling and spewing out nonsense. I usually tell them to shove off and take their Japanese sex robot with them. And then people prejudge me as Japanese. I DO NOT see it. My close friend told me "To be honest, the first time I met you I thought you were japanese." This struck me odd and it never occurred to me. Then my other close friends overheard and started to agree with her. Then my buffoon friend came up with a nick name I hate a lot. JJ. Guess what it stands for. C'mon, I'll wait... Okay well I can't wait any longer. It's stands for Japanese Jennifer. I don't like prejudged. I'm actually Vietnamese. Now they call me JJ all the time. It was kind of awkward because another girl that I'm friends with also got the nickname for JJ. J_____ Jasmine. I don't even want to know what the first word is. Another note I want to say is that K-pop fans are starting to annoy me. I watched, like, four k-pop videos in my lifetime and I liked it. But I didn't go obsess with it. So then my friend started liking and then obsessing with k-pop. And then she learned that I knew a little bit about k-pop and then she began pestering me. I told her that I barely even knew any k-pop bands. So then she got more people obsessing with it. Now she's cramming down my throat telling me that I should watch some more of it. This to me sounds like a zombie virus infection. I hate it when people think you're one of those amazing asians that can do something extraordinary that they saw on some youtube videos. That kind of pressures me. I'm an average asian. AAAAAAVVVVVVEEEERRRRRAAAAAGGGEEEEE. And for all those people who stereotype asians here are a few things I want to say. I'm terrible at math. I'm not very fluent with my own language. I dont say CHING CHONG CHING LONG PING PONG. I don't eat dogs. I don't have small eyes. I am tall for my age. I'm deeply sorry if I offended anyone. I didn't mean to. And I apologize about typing up a whole life story. Just wanted to get that off of my chest.

  Hhaha your funny! xD Im Chinese! I HATE it when people think i speak Chinese and then try to imitate what they think id say. I mean seriously Ching chong ching long ping pong!? Yeah....Im at the groccery store and people talk about me like im not even there...they just assume i don't speak ANY english...you serious!? If you live in america you know at least some english...people are soo dumb...Theres this guy i know and he says he could blind me with DENTAL FLOSS!!!! ARE YOU SERIOUS!!!!!!!!! Dental floss!? I don't think my eyes are that squinty...But i do get good grades,and its NOT because im asian! It's because i STUDY super hard!!! I HATE those stereotypical people! Cause when i fail tests he's like "aren't you supposed to be asian!?" he also thinks i only like asian guys...He is so DUMB!!!! My friend that i've known for like 8 years has no idea what race of asian i am...She thinks there are only japanese and chinese people out there...that is only a little smidge of it! Yeah...we're not so close anymore...But i don't really like anime and manga as much as i used to...But i do LOVE K-pop! :D obsess over it! Yeah my family makes fun of me for it....-____- but watever! I didn't really find anything offensive, so yeah i rant too! :D
