What is the Rivalry between Koln and Dusseldorf?

• I am doing a presentation on Napoleon. I recently traveled to Dusseldorf and I was told that Napoleon had some influence in Germany. I know that he met his generals at this brewery in Dusseldorf. In this presentation I'm going to mention the rivalry between the two cities. What is the rivalry and why is it still going on. Also, does anyone have any personal footage or know of any youtube videos of fights in Dusseldorf and Koln?

  Düsseldorf and Cologne/Köln have a "fierce regional rivalry". The rivalry includes carnival parades (Hellau vs Alaaf), football (1. FC Köln vs Fortuna Düsseldorf), and beer. People in Cologne prefer Kölsch while people in Düsseldorf prefer Alt. Waiters and patrons will "scorn" and make a "mockery" of people who order Alt beer in Cologne and Kölsch in Düsseldorf. The rivalry has been described as a "love-hate relationship". Also, Düsseldorf has become capital of the state North Rhine-Westphalia, from what Cologne wasn't quite amused.
