Christians, how extensive would you say illegal drugs are in your part of the world and how will (see details)?
-
this affect how others think? How do you think it will affect how others think about Christians when they do? What impact do you think illegal drugs will have on the 'worldview' of Christianity? It will have large effects on everything, of course, but my question here is to Christians about what it will do regarding Christianity. This is a focus, and I know the question is far larger. It might be good if others posed other questions on those areas I have missed here. <<>>

Answer:
Blessings to all. There’s a drug popular with teens in the U.S. that many parents may never have heard of, but worst of all – it is legal. This drug, called “Spice” or “K2” is said to give the user a marijuana-like high. Sold in shops and online as incense, it is being smoked as a legal alternative to marijuana. But this drug appears to have far more dangerous side-effects and without the necessary regulation, consumers have no idea what they’re really getting. Spice originally appeared on the scene in the late 1990s, but didn’t really become popular until 2008. As the drug gained popularity in Europe, scientists began conducting research into the composition of this drug and any potential effects on the body. As a result of these investigations, many countries subsequently banned Spice including Germany, France, Chile, Poland, Russia, South Korea, Sweden, Switzerland, Austria, and the U.K. The United States currently has no such ban on the drug, likely due to the fact that it has only recently become popular in the U.S. German researchers were able to determine that Spice contained a variety of synthetic cannabinoids, which are chemical compounds devised to produce marijuana-like effects. There was a high quantity of other synthetic chemicals found as well, indicating that a user really has no way of knowing what they are being exposed to. Worse yet, Spice appears to have many negative side effects that marijuana does not such as anxiety attacks, hallucinations, nausea, and a chemical dependency. Three teenagers in Roswell, GA were recently hospitalized after using Spice. One teen had a severe reaction to the drug, resulting in swelling of the brain. Currently there is no way to test for the use of Spice, as it is not a regulated drug. Theoretically, children under the age of 18 cannot buy the drug, as head shops and online stores are not supposed to sell to minors. As this drug is still legal in the U.S., many people may be led to believe that it is a safe alternative to marijuana. This could not be further from the truth. Parents, teachers, and lawmakers need to be made aware that this drug is out there and that it has the potential to harm the lives of our children. And about illegal drugs it's high in the state I'm living, My son is a Police officer and His Department has to deal with meth Lab that it is all over Georgia. And user are all kinds of people, one we will never think about them taking drugs , this include Christians also, the medical mariguana is a business to some user, money is the root of all evil, and this is the main problem .

"how extensive would you say illegal drugs are in your part of the world?" moderate to high. Indiana has the highest rate of "Meth Lab busts". beyond that, i'd say you could only score drugs in the cities, but not the small towns (unless you "know a guy" who goes to the city). "How will this affect how others think?" "How do you think it will affect how others think about Christians when they do?" well, if the Christian preaches or just proclaims that drugs are "bad", it may make them seem like a hypocrite, but nowhere in the Bible (that i've read) does it preach AGAINST drug use (provided that that use does not cause physical harm, like with Meth). what the Bible DOES say, is that we should follow the law of the land, as long as that law does not interfere with God's Laws. that being said, if you want laws to change, you need to petition for them, and rally for them. BREAKING them is going against God's words (or rather, Jesus' words, since it was Him that said it). "What impact do you think illegal drugs will have on the 'worldview' of Christianity?" while i don't personally do drugs (too much of a hit on the ol' wallet), i have friends who do, and as long as they are used properly, they don't do the harm you hear about on the TV and in movies. despite that, many people see it as a crime, and in this world, the majority rules, and so we must abide by that in order to keep peaceful relations with our fellow man. many people feel "cheated" or "betrayed" by such laws (even my Christian friends who do drugs), and feel that it is their right as a "free man" to do whatever they want to their bodies. think of how many Christians get tattoos or piercing nowadays (only 10 years ago that was taboo!). as the world becomes less "strict", i feel that eventually, drug use may become a legal thing again (except for Meth, that's just bad, both for the user AND the environment). until that day, the individual will battle with himself over whether or not it is okay to do drugs, and if what they are doing is really "okay" in the eyes of God. but think about this for a moment: the only people who don't LIKE drugs, are those who have either never done them, or have OVERdone them (overdoing ANYTHING can be a bad thing)...
